Acceleration Through Innovation: Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly

Featuring Andrew Richards | 30th August, 2017

We have recently been passed details of Acceleration Through Innovation (ATI) launch events.

ATI – an overview

ATI is a £3m three year project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project is led by the University of Plymouth in partnership with Cornwall Innovation which aims to deliver high value, high impact interventions and provide intensive support to businesses who are ‘innovation ready’.

ATI aims to deliver smart and beneficial ideas whilst providing intensive support to businesses that are ready to innovate.

Through a programme which encourages and supports business acceleration, ATI aims to help businesses across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to bring forward new to market or new to firm innovations which drives growth and productivity.

ATI will be offering niche innovation expertise led by recognised specialists and certified innovation professionals. They aim to encourage employer and employee led innovation which inspires new ways of thinking whilst adding value to your business, thus creating an opportunity for businesses to implement their innovative processes and to trial the market.

Pop up innovation centres

The project will look to work with the SME community to develop a culture of innovation across all levels, enabling businesses to attend masterclasses and pop-up innovation centres whilst linking with other networks at innovation clubs held across the county.

The pop-up innovation centres will be running for one to three months at a time across the county and will enable businesses to create links and valuable networks by using the available meeting room space, superfast broadband connection and themed workshops.

These pop-up centres should be particularly beneficial to the SMEs who are unable to use the facilities at the three Cornwall innovation centres located in Truro, Falmouth and Pool.

Advisory sessions, tailored support and prototyping technology will be available to allow businesses to grow to the next level of progression within their business path.
