Innovate UK – competitions open as at December 2019

Earlier this week a colleague forwarded me an email from Innovate UK advising him of RDI funding competitions currently open.  To be honest I have not read through the details of all funding competitions listed but I have sought to present the overview of each below and anyone looking for more details on a specific competition can click on the competition title to take you to the relevant GOV.UK webpage.

Anyone reading this blog will I am sure note:

  1. There are a lot of funding competitions currently open – most of specific themes but also there is the open competition (SMART)
  2. Innovate UK are a conduit for deployment of Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund monies

We are aware that Innovate UK are aiming to increase awareness of the breadth and scope of funding competitions potentially applicable to businesses across the South West and I am sure they will feature in a number of events me and my colleagues will host/ be involved in the next 12 months – starting with our Truro breakfast briefing for February.

R&D Tax Credits

As anyone who has read one of blogs on R&D grant funding will have noted I tend to finish the blog with a note that anyone thinking about applying for R&D grant funding should speak to one of our Innovation & Technology Tax team to better understand the interaction of the grant with R&D Tax Credits.

R&D Tax Credits will also be covered in Truro’s February breakfast briefing.
