Last week, I was in receipt of an email from UKRI Innovate UK detailing the “current funding opportunities”. One of which intrigued/ pleased me in particular was “Ocean plastic solutions investment accelerator: reducing plastic pollution” – interestingly the £2m referred to below is a mix of grant and private investment from Sky Ocean Ventures. I suspect one of my colleagues has passed on a link to this one to a couple of contacts to see if could be useful in funding their development plans.

|UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £2 million to develop solutions that tackle the environmental crisis of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans.|
|Transforming Construction Network Plus: £1million funding call
|The Transforming Construction Network Plus is opening its first call for proposals for research that will help transform construction. Two rounds of funding calls will be launched, to distribute £1m of funding. The first call launches on 1 February and KTN will run briefing events in London on 12 February (webcast is available) and in Manchester on 13 February.|
|Business Basics 2 – SME productivity (proof of concept)
|A share of up to £2 million is available to run proof of concept projects aimed at how to encourage SMEs to adopt productivity boosting technology or management practices.|

|UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £7 million to explore and evaluate the commercial potential of a scientific idea to solve a healthcare challenge.|

|UK organisations can apply for a share of up to £8 million to carry out collaborative R&D, collaborative fast-track and feasibility projects to enhance the UK’s position in civil aerospace.|
