Plenty of regional establishments on the menu in ‘The Good Food Guide’

This week, the eateries that are included in 2020 edition of The Good Food Guide complied by Waitrose and Partners were announced  in advance of the publication of the guide on 12 September 2019.

Regional representation

It’s no surprise that the South West features heavily; after all, we are a region that has a reputation for quality food.  But even I found the scale of our representation mouth-watering – we have 290 restaurants listed if you search by “south west”. (Note: 290 is close to 25% of total eateries included in the guide).

Graphically, the predominance of the south west is to a degree illustrated below:

Congratulations

Congratulations to all who made it on to the list.  It certainly does showcase the south west as a centre for food excellence.  As I would guess that a significant proportion of those restaurants listed specialise in local produce; I would congratulate the suppliers and food producers.

We act for over 200 clients in the food and drink sector across the region and endeavour to communicate and comment on issues pertinent to the sector on a regular basis.  Our latest newsletter can be found here and more background information on the team, services and relevant blog posts etc. can be found here.

We are hosting a breakfast seminar on one of the hot issues in the sector – waste – in October.  For more details of the event that will take place in Falmouth, Cornwall on 28 October 2019, and to book a place, see link.
