Following on from my last blog “going green is good business” I’d like to highlight two business support initiatives operational in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly: Cornwall New Energy and Tevi.
I am hopeful that both of these organisations will be presenting at my breakfast briefing at our Truro office on 8 January 2019 and will come with a few case studies of businesses they have assisted and the bottom line impact those businesses. For now the briefest of overviews on these two EU funded initiatives:

|Who||A partnership between PRP Architects, Community Works CIC, Community Infrastructure Group CIC, the Building Research Establishment, and Exeter University|| |
The work is led by the University of Exeter, and is delivered in partnership with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Cornwall Council and the Cornwall Development Company.
|Objectives||· Provide greater energy security in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly|
· Reduce operating costs and improve an SME’s overall financial performance
· Enable new energy products and services to be brought to market
|To do two things, simultaneously; create both economic and environmental growth in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.|
|Assistance|| Consultancy, information and diagnostic advice to established local organisations, as well as any start-ups or new businesses within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly|
· Research collaboration opportunities with academia and researchers
· Supporting the development of products and/or services that have an energy or carbon emission reduction focus.
| Tevi supports enterprises to become more efficient with their natural resource use and to minimise their waste in smart and innovative ways as part of the global transition towards a circular economy… Support through:|
· Expert consultation
· Opportunities for recognition and certification
· Grant funding.
