Boyriven’s impressive client list reads like a roll-call of some of the world’s best-known premium brands.
Aston Martin, Bentley, Fairline Yachts, Lotus and Rolls-Royce are just five of the companies that entrust their valuable business with the Hampshire-based fabric supplier.
“Aston Martin is our biggest customer – we supply Alcantara directly from Italy to them and their sub-contractors – but we also have clients across a range of sectors including the NHS, military, public transport, hospitality and boating” said Oliver Espinasse, Managing Director.
He added: “We pride ourselves on being able to supply multiple types of fabric. Our warehouse holds hundreds of products in a vast colour range sourced from all over the world.
“There’s lots of competition in the UK and we certainly can’t afford to be complacent. However, we’ve made the conscious decision to target the mid-tier to premium markets and not go down the cheap route. It seems to be working for us.”
Oliver, 34, is the great grandson of P C Espinasse who founded the company in 1914.
He took over as MD last year from his father, Philip, who headed the company for 31 years. Philip, 62, passed away earlier this year.
Boyriven now employs 12 people and has an annual turnover of £3 million. Originally based in Wembley, London, the company moved to its current site on the outskirts of Andover in 2003.
“We don’t manufacture our products but, through our warehouse, trade as a distribution and logistics business. Fabrics and upholstery represent the bulk of our business but we can also source anything from a tiny wood screw for Bentley to a particular type of vinyl for the National Health Service,” said Oliver.
“The most important thing, though, is my team. We’re determined to be the ‘best in class’ for customer service because if they receive great service they’ll come back time after time.
“My ambition is for the business to always do better than the previous year. We’re also looking to increase our presence in social media as well as develop new products, generate new revenue streams and grow organically.”
Boyriven has been a client of PKF Francis Clark since 2016 with Salisbury Partner, Paul Giessler, and his team becoming trusted advisers to the 105-year-old family business.
Our wide range of work includes handling the firm’s accounts, liaising with banks, assisting with the restructure of the business and also planning for the future. We also attend Boyriven’s board meetings.
Paul said: “It’s a wonderful family business and a very good client.
“Oliver brings the next generation’s energy to the business. Boyriven faces challenges but it has a very bright future.”
Oliver said: “PKF Francis Clark has helped us in so many ways and we greatly value the relationship.
“The fact that Paul, or one of his colleagues, attends our board meetings and annual general meetings shows how much we trust and appreciate their support.
“We find the service personal, friendly and approachable but also appreciate the many ‘added value’ aspects.
“The opportunity to attend breakfast seminars and talk with owners of similar-sized businesses is just one example of the extra benefits provided by PKF Francis Clark.
“We’re very happy with the service provided by Paul and his team which adds immeasurable value to our business.”
