Crowdfunder competitions – Opportunities to win £1,000

Over the course of two weeks, Crowdfunder have been running a series of competitions to give 100 people or businesses the opportunity to win £1k.

Crowdfunder have successfully run competitions like this before in partnership with others and case studies for the winners can be found on the Crowdfunder website.

This competition is entitled “What’s Your Idea?” and is, and has been looking for people that have a creative idea, that has the potential to, “bring about a new way of seeing or doing things”. Crowdfunder (through their partner for this initiative, Go Daddy) are offering to pledge £1,000 to help see some of these ideas become a reality.

Each day of the competition has a different theme, giving the opportunity for a variety of businesses to get involved.

As mentioned, the competition has already started, but the following themes are yet to run:

  • Confident communities – 19 February – The ideas that support and unite local communities
  • Start-up – 21 February – Are you launching a business in 2018?
  • Growing your business – Date TBC

To apply for the competition, Crowdfunder asks that you submit your entry via their Facebook page on the specific post allocated for that day, in the form of 100 words or less. The winning ideas will then be notified at midday, the following day.

The next step if you are a winner, is that you will also need to raise money through crowdfunding in order to unlock the winning pledge from the partner. Crowdfunder will coach you through the crowdfunding process with bespoke guidance from their in-house experts.

More information about the competition can be found here, with details of how to apply found at the respective Facebook pages.

Crowdfunder are scheduled to present at our Start Up Cornwall event in April, more information can be found here.
