Chartered accountants PKF Francis Clark have appointed a new business services partner, Sonia Fisher at its Exeter office. As the firm celebrates its Centenary year, Sonia also becomes the 100th partner in the firm’s history.

The news comes with the announcement of the promotion of two new Partners and four new Directors. These promotions take place in the Exeter and Poole offices and bring the total partnership to 54 with the firm now employing over 750 staff across the region.

Sonia joined PKF Francis Clark in 2001 and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and then Chartered Tax Adviser. Working for 13 years in the corporate department in Torquay, Sonia who was promoted to Director in 2018 is based in Exeter and provides accountancy and taxation advice to owner-managed businesses and companies particularly in the agriculture and food and drink sectors and also specialist advice to the legal sector.

Having run her own business for a period, she particularly enjoys advising her clients on all aspects of running their business, from identifying and promoting efficient accounting solutions, including cloud accounting, to advice on tax efficient income extraction. Sonia has taken a lead role in guiding her team to ensure we are in a strong position to assist our clients in being ready for the MTD regime that is soon to be in place. She has already assisted a large number of the clients she looks after to ensure they are on cloud based systems that will be compliant. She has found this to be a great opportunity to review clients’ systems and help improve efficiencies for them in many areas.

PKF Francis Clark Managing Partner Andrew Richards commented: “Our Centenary year is a special one for us and I am delighted to not only announce Sonia’s promotion, but also welcome her as our 100th partner which is in itself a reason to celebrate. Planning for our celebrations has given us a chance to reflect on the past, present and future of PKF Francis Clark and what has led to the success of the firm over the years.

“Key to that success has always been recruiting and rewarding the very best talent available. The strength of our relationships with our clients is testament to that; we remain committed to providing an outstanding service to them and to help us achieve their ambitions and goals we will continue to invest in the best people. I would like to congratulate Sonia, on her well-deserved promotion which reinforces our ability to deliver the very best client focussed solutions for businesses of all sizes.”
