The latest round of PKF Francis Clark’s Essential Updates for Finance Directors #FDSeminar17 has been rated as “Excellent” by attendees of the events.
The South West accountants and business advisers run the events every six months to provide an overview of the most important technical developments in financial reporting, taxation and corporate finance. They also address topical financial matters, the opportunities they present, and the pitfalls that can be avoided.
In early November, over 300 Financial Directors attended the updates which were held in Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Bournemouth and Bodmin. The events, built around the theme of ‘The Role of the Finance Director’, covered cyber security by drawing upon the experience of work being done with clients; Brexit and what business should be doing now; current issues in financial reporting; VAT; corporation tax; employee pension arrangements; means of turning variable energy costs into a financial opportunity, and management buy-out structures.
The well attended events were well received, with overall excellent feedback from attendees, which included:
“These presentations succeed in getting better and better each session – fantastic programme!”
“Informative and comprehensive – thank you!”
“The presentations have been very interesting with a good level of content and will help in discussion in my company”
“Excellent as always. No other regional accountancy firm presents anywhere near as well as FC.”
Nick Farrant, a Partner with PKF Francis Clark, who chaired the Taunton event, said:
“These are flagship events for us and, once again, they were a huge success. It was fantastic to be able to bring together so many finance directors and financial controllers from businesses throughout the region.
“Organising these regional events is a big undertaking but the very positive reaction we have received from the attendees, and the business discussions that have resulted, more than justify the hard work put in by our team.
“We hope that the updates and opportunities that were presented will have left those who attended in a better position to inform and, ultimately, deliver further business growth in the South West and beyond.
