PKF Francis Clark and OTB Eveling have provided advice to Van Ameyde on its acquisition of the marine surveyor, McAusland & Turner.
Van Ameyde is Europe’s leading claims outsourcing organisation, with a client base of major insurance providers, corporate risk managers and motor fleet managers. The service offering ranges from off-the-shelf to fully customised solutions for all non-life insurance lines. In addition, Van Ameyde offers IT solutions to help its clients improve their claims performance.
McAusland Turner is the oldest Marine Surveying and Consulting firm in the port of Hull. The business was established in 1888, and now has offices in Grimsby, Newcastle, Bristol, Burgess Hill and Ipswich, and representative offices in Rochester, Southampton, Liverpool and Kinross.
McAusland & Turner will join Van Ameyde’s Loss Adjusting & Surveying Division, which comprises Woodgate & Clark in the UK, as well as Van Ameyde Marine, Arntz | van Helden, Krogius and MLC. In addition, Van Ameyde will support sustainable growth and provide IT support to McAusland Turner. The deal continues McAusland Turner’s own growth in recent months, with a London City office set to open shortly.
Advice was provided by the Corporate Finance team at PKF Francis Clark, Paul Crocker, Matt Wilmott and Tom Hicks, and James Eveling and Emma Thomas from the Corporate Team at OTB Eveling.
Bob de Bruijn, board member at Van Ameyde, said of the deal: “The acquisition is part of Van Ameyde’s strategy to expand its loss-adjusting and surveying network. With the UK being the largest marine insurance market, expansion of our marine surveying network to the UK is vital. In McAusland Turner, we have found the perfect match in terms of quality and identity. Thanks to the thoroughness and dedication of the teams at OTB Eveling and PKF Francis Clark, we now look forward to the next stage of developing our UK footprint.”
Paul Crocker, Corporate Finance Partner at PKF Francis Clark commented; “It was a pleasure working with Van Ameyde. This was a very interesting transaction that involved us working closely with Bob and the team at Van Ameyde and the seller, McAusland & Turner, to structure a deal that allowed a successful completion.”
James Eveling, Partner at OTB Eveling, commented: “We are delighted to have supported Van Ameyde through another corporate acquisition, one of a number we have supported them on over the last few years. The acquisition is a great fit for Van Ameyde’s expansion in the UK market”
