Cyber Accreditation Schemes

We can also provide guidance on the UK Government backed cyber accreditation schemes:

Cyber Essentials

Cyber-Essentials-Badge-High-ResWe offer a one and a half day’s assistance and an external vulnerability scan. This scheme comprises a self-assessment questionnaire to help businesses understand the five key control areas:

  • boundary firewalls & internet gateway
  • secure configuration
  • user access control
  • malware protection
  • patch management

Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber-Essentials-PLUS-Badge-High-ResWe offer an on-site technical assessment that includes penetration tests and more in-depth vulnerability scans. This scheme also comprises a self-assessment questionnaire, with the addition of actively testing and measuring results from the five key areas:

  • boundary firewalls and internet gateway
  • secure configuration
  • user access control
  • malware protection
  • patch management

IASME Certification

There are two options: Verified self-assessment and Gold. Gold includes an onsite audit and was built along the same lines as ISO27001 and NIST 800 and demonstrates baseline compliance with ISO27001. This standard compliments the Cyber Essentials domain with risk management, governance, training, procedures, incident management and business continuity aspects. A certified IASME Gold organisation will also receive the Cyber Essentials certification. The standard also ensures compliance with GDPR regulations.

Cyber Security Core Services

After the UK Government worked with the Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises (IASME) consortium and the Information Security Forum (ISF), in 2014 the Cyber Essentials accreditation and IASME schemes were launched. These are a set of technical controls to help organisations protect themselves against common online security threats and also to reassure customers that they are working to secure their IT against cyber-attack. It can also help to attract new business by assuring them that they have cyber security measures in place and accreditation certification is increasingly required when pitching for public and larger private supply chain tenders.
