With nearly 170,000 charities across the UK seeing an impact to their funding, the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced £750m of support.
Recognising the sector Mr Sunak said that £360m will be directly allocated by government departments to larger charities.
A further £370m will provide much needed help to smaller charities, and be delivered via organisations including the National Lottery Community Fund.
Alongside this, the government have promised to match “pound for pound” donations from the public during the BBC’s Big Night In fundraiser on 23rd April, with a minimum pledge of £20m.
Whilst the further grants for charities offer much needed financial help, they can also access the Job Retention Scheme and other announcements from the government.
