Kathryn joined Francis Clark in 2015 after 11 years working with HMRC as both a visiting and reviews Higher Officer. This provided invaluable technical knowledge and practical experience of HMRC’s procedures.

Kathryn is responsible for dealing with VAT and Customs issues ranging from basic compliance through to advice on complex issues and dispute resolution. Her particular areas of specialist VAT knowledge are in the charity and not for profit sector, partial exemption and the tour operators margin scheme.

In addition, she has also developed expertise in Customs Duties and worked with clients to help them plan for the VAT and Duties implications of Brexit. Kathryn takes the time to understand our clients’ priorities and then considers the technical specifics and the broader implications of various structure options.

Kathryn is qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor and has undertaken Customs training with the Institute of Export. She regularly presents at our charities seminars and delivers VAT and Customs training to a broad range of clients.
