Nick Farrant

Partner, audit and head of food & drink sector

Nick is one of PKF Francis Clark’s most experienced and respected audit partners having joined the firm as a director in 2011 and becoming a partner in 2014. Known for his calm, personable style and sharp insight, he’s someone clients instinctively trust – especially when issues are complex. Nick has a rare ability to distil complicated financial matters and audit findings into clear, actionable advice, helping business leaders make confident decisions with clarity and assurance.

Based in Bristol but also continuing to support our Taunton office, Nick leads teams to deliver high-quality audit, assurance and advisory services to a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses, to large private groups and UK subsidiaries of international businesses and fund investments. He is particularly valued for his ability to coordinate specialist input across tax, corporate finance and governance, ensuring clients receive joined-up advice that’s both strategic and practical.

Nick heads up the firm’s food and drink sector, supporting businesses across the supply chain – from producers and manufacturers to wholesalers and restaurants and has a broad network of relationships in the south west and beyond. His sector expertise also spans manufacturing, technology, professional sports, and hotels, leisure and tourism.

Recent work examples include:

  • A trusted advisor to ambitious businesses navigating growth both within the UK and internationally – from family ownership through crowdfunding, angel investment, private equity, MBOs and acquisition by multinationals. Known for adapting seamlessly to each stage while maintaining long-term, high-trust relationships
  • Led audit and advisory services for complex private groups across multiple sectors, bringing together specialist teams to deliver joined up, commercially focused advice that drives confident decision-making
  • Delivered assurance and governance support to national and international sporting bodies during periods of uncertainty, helping senior stakeholders steer through change with clarity and confidence

Passionate about being a leader in an independent firm, Nick also plays strategic roles for the firm in respect of the growth of our audit & assurance services and the Bristol market more generally. Whilst away from the day job, Nick is involved in the regional committee of a national charity having previously held governance roles at Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Somerset County Cricket Club.
