John Endacott thanked for service to Chartered Institute of Taxation

PKF Francis Clark’s head of tax has been thanked for his work as a longstanding member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) Council.

John Endacott received a certificate of thanks from CIOT president Gary Ashford at a recent admissions ceremony in London. He served on the CIOT Council – the institute’s strategic governing body – from 2016 to 2023.

During this time John was vice-chair of the CIOT’s membership and branches committee, as well as being an examiner for the chartered tax adviser (CTA) qualification. He continues to serve on various committees including the institute’s digitalisation and agent services committee, which is holding HM Revenue & Customs to account over Making Tax Digital.

John said: “I’ve been privileged to work with many talented people over the years in support of the CIOT’s aims of promoting education in taxation and achieving a more efficient and less complex tax system for all. While there’s always more to do on this, being part of this celebration of professional excellence and seeing the next generation of CIOT members coming through leaves me feeling optimistic about the future.”

Scott Bentley, chief operations officer at PKF Francis Clark, said: “At PKF Francis Clark we believe in playing an active role in raising standards in our profession and influencing policy for the better. As a nationally recognised authority on tax, John has done this for many years through his work with the CIOT and continues to do so by engaging with policymakers and professional bodies to improve the tax system and the quality of advice received by taxpayers.”

PKF Francis Clark’s tax team includes more than 90 chartered tax advisers and nearly 40 Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) qualified professionals. Meanwhile, around 50 trainees are currently studying for tax qualifications via the ATT-CTA, CTA and ATT pathways.
